Prime Minister and LDP President Abe addressed the UN General Assembly for the sixth consecutive year with renewed resolve. At the beginning of his speech, he said he will do his very best to strengthen the free trade system, and vowed to stand on the global stage as a standard-bearer towards that goal. He also discussed the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP) that was approved by the Diet after difficult deliberations and the country's emphasis on new talks for free, fair, and reciprocal trade deals (FFR) with the United States.
