Prime Minister and LDP President Abe received a courtesy call from 8 members of the nonpartisan Study Group on Japan (5 Republicans, 3 Democrats), a group comprising approximately 75 current members of the U.S. House and Senate. The Prime Minister expressed his gratitude to the group for the work it does to actively encourage interactions among legislators through various speeches and study sessions so that Japan is better understood in the U.S. Congress. He also expressed his emphasis on strengthening the Japan- U.S. alliance to ensure a free and open Indo-Pacific Region.
