The leaders of Japan and the United States demonstrated the strength of their alliance to the entire world in advance of the first-ever "US-North Korea Summit." Prime Minister and LDP President Shinzo Abe and President Donald Trump agreed on the importance of an early resolution to the abduction issue as a priority task. The leaders also confirmed that Japan, the United States, and South Korea will continue to work in close coordination to maintain maximum pressure on North Korea to resolve the nuclear weapon and missile issues.
