Prime Minister and LDP President Shinzo Abe met with South Korean President Moon Jae-In and delivered a clear message that the Japan-South Korea agreement to settle the issue of comfort women is an "agreement for the issue to be finally and irrevocably resolved, and that the basis for bilateral relations is promises made between the two countries." He also emphasized the importance of Japan, South Korea and the United States coordinating to exert maximum pressure on North Korea as it pursues its nuclear weapons and missiles program.
