Prime Minister and LDP President Shinzo Abe met with Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka of the Czech Republic, a country known for its hard-working people. They agreed to enter discussions for an eventual civil aviation agreement that would open direct flights between the two countries. There are currently about 250 Japanese companies in the Czech Republic, primarily automakers and other manufacturers, and with more than 100,000 Japanese people visiting the Czech Republic every year, Prime Minister Abe expressed his hope for the economic partnership, cultural exchange, and friendship between the two countries to continue developing.
