LDP Secretary-General Toshihiro Nikai attended the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation in Beijing featuring China's Silk Road Economic Belt concept. The forum attracted participants from more than 130 countries, including 29 heads of state. During his meeting with President Xi Jinping at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse, the secretary-general delivered a personal letter from Prime Minister and LDP President Abe, and, in the relaxing atmosphere, made significant steps forward in deepening the Japan-China friendship.
