Japan-China Summit: "From competition to collaboration"

Prime Minister and LDP President Shinzo Abe paid an official visit to China to attend a reception commemorating the 40th anniversary of the conclusion of the Treaty of Peace and Friendship between Japan and the People's Republic of China, and to hold meetings with President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang. Japan has decided to end official development assistance (ODA) projects to China. Instead, Prime Minister Abe suggested that the two countries could work together to contribute to the stability and prosperity of the world through dialogue and human exchange to promote development cooperation. The meetings were harmonious from start to finish and marked the first step towards a new relationship of "collaboration" between the countries.
